Daily Prompt: Oasis: Out Among The Weeds or The Zen of Weeding

IMG_7519

A sanctuary is a place you can escape to, to catch your breath and remember who you are. Write about the place you go to when everything is a bit too much.

Many people deplore weeding and it is likely the reason many do care to garden. IT takes time which a lot of people do not have nowadays or other pressing things the would rather waste their time doing. There is a saying that a rose can be a weed if it is not were it is wanted. Yes, that may be true but I am sure a rose bush would be so much earlier to remove than some of the weeds that grow in my garden. I even have a tree that sends roots out and trees sprout seemly overnight in my garden.

The crazy think is that I really enjoy weeding for the most part. It is really a mindless task so you are able to think over many other ideas and problems. Many people go for walk to clear their head but I head for the garden. So when I need to go to my happy place I head out of the door to may garden to get exercise and to get that satisfaction of a beautiful manicured garden or at least part of it. It is really a never ending endeavor but I am hoping the weeds with be less each year if I keep it up.  Right now it is mostly bare with a few weeds here and there with some collards, beets and cabbage. Time to plan for next year garden and weed control.
